Penstemon Grandiflorus " Large Flowered Beardstongue " x Fresh Seed

A lovely native to the dry central states of the USA . Rarely seen in gardens this lovely , hardy herbaceous perennial produces large lavender flowers from the leaf axils in Spring over a long period. Reaching over 1 meter high the grey-green foliage is unusually spoon shaped and the plants eventually form quite outstanding and neat clumps. A hardy and long lived perennial strongly recommended for sunny open sites in well drained soil, over watering and poorly drained soils can lead to root rot and eventual death of the plant. A great, drought tolerant addition to the garden.
